Hello Everyone and hoping you had a wonderful Holiday Season!

The 2022 Hughes ARC Weekly net has opened with enthusiastic participants as shown in the roster at the end of this message. And, it seems that some are starting 2022 with new Yaesu C4FM capable radios so we can expect more traffic on our Digital Nightcap Net. Our first net of the year included a Trivia Question submitted by a club member, and while not stumping everybody was fun and we learned a bit more about Ham history. Just a reminder - all Trivia Questions submitted are both appreciated and the submitter has the option of presenting the question or asking Net Control to do so and if desired the submitter may remain anonymous. Just a friendly Thank You to all that every single scheduled net in 2021 was conducted with sound participation due to YOU!

We will conduct our next net on Wednesday 12 January, 2022 at 7:30 pm local time. Please join with us on our repeater, 445.620 MHz with a standard negative offset and PL tone of 127.3 Hz on both transmit and receive and I am looking forward to hearing from you on our Repeater Net, Simplex Net and Digital 'Nightcap Net' for those so equipped.

A heads up on a few events:
January 15 & 16 ARRL V/UHF Contest
January 18 Hughes ARC monthly meeting via Zoom due to Omicron
Hughes ARC Logo Contest open until March Meeting - members are encouraged to create a Club Logo that will be on our letterhead. Prize for the winner

Have a great weekend with perhaps some sun and warmth

73,
Howard KE6MAK
